Job Summary
Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Environmental Scientist in the Environmental Consulting Industry in Fort St. John, British Columbia. Our client is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist, Remediation to lead and sign off on Stage I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and remediation programs for oil & gas and industrial projects across British Columbia. The role combines technical authority, project leadership, and client engagement, requiring deep expertise in environmental regulations, site assessment, and remediation strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee Stage I & II ESAs, Detailed Site Investigations, and remediation programs for oil & gas and industrial sites.
- Review, approve, and sign off on technical reports ensuring regulatory compliance and technical accuracy.
- Develop and implement remediation strategies and creative environmental solutions for complex sites.
- Analyze and interpret soil, groundwater, and contamination data to guide decision-making.
- Provide expert guidance on BCER regulations and Certificates of Restoration (CoR) processes.
- Manage and mentor field teams, consultants, and contractors on project execution and safety standards.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting project strategy and delivery excellence.
- Champion a culture of health, safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, or related discipline.
- Professional designation in BC (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., RPBio).
- Minimum 8+ years of environmental experience, with focus on ESAs and remediation.
- Strong knowledge of BC environmental regulations and BCER requirements.
- Experience with soil sampling, groundwater monitoring, and contamination assessment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
- Excellent communication, client management, and technical report writing skills.
