Position: Planner I Position with City
Join the City of Fort St. John as a Planner I, where you will engage in complex planning tasks and provide critical advice and support to ensure effective projects.

This position under the Planning Manager is essential for processing development applications and assisting in community planning projects. With a relevant degree and two years of technical experience, you will coordinate meetings, prepare reports, and support policy development in a dynamic role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Development Area and variance permit applications

• Support the Planning Technologist with applications

• Prepare reports for council on planning issues

• Facilitate and coordinate public engagement sessions

• Research zoning bylaws and planning amendments

Requirements:

• Degree in planning or human geography

• 2 years of relevant experience required

• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License

• Strong technical research and analysis capabilities

• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
