Step into the role of Building Inspector III in Development Services, verifying compliance with the B.C. Building Code and zoning regulations. Perform inspections, issue permits, and communicate with various regulatory bodies.

This position, which operates full-time, focuses on detailed plan reviews and building inspections. You will work collaboratively with city departments and regulatory agencies to uphold community safety standards. By identifying non-conforming items and guiding permit processes, your work will have a lasting impact on urban development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough inspections and plan reviews

• Issue necessary permits for constructions

• Monitor buildings for compliance and potential demolition

• Interact with regulatory agencies including fire and health

• Address public inquiries regarding construction

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent

• Certification in BOABC Building Official Level 3

• Hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License

• Pass a criminal record check

• Knowledge of building inspection software
