Location: Dawson Creek
Term of App't: Relief on call, maximum of 7hrs per day, 7 days a week
Start date: Immediately
Reporting to: Manager of Facilities
SalaryClassification 12, $29.26/hour
, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees are provided an additional $0.58/hour in lieu of benefits, and 6% vacation pay for all regular hours worked.
The successful candidate will provide general facilities maintenance of college buildings, grounds, and equipment; with the expectation to operate and maintain all tools and equipment related to these functions. Duties will include painting and prep, lifting and moving items, deliveries, carpentry duties, snow removal and or grass cutting with appropriate equipment, operating and maintaining service vehicles, etc. This position may assist with the demolition and renovations to various areas on our campuses.
Interpersonal skills are a priority in this position and the Facilities Maintenance worker will have the ability and willingness to be an effective team member. This position provides relief coverage 7 days a week for our regular staff during times of vacation, illness, etc.
Heavy physical effort is expected and required to move furniture, etc., up to approximately 50 pounds (23 kg). Experience with general maintenance is required, with drywalling, painting and carpentry being an asset. A current driver's license is required, as well as front end loader experience (snow removal in winter months).
