Labourer - Summer Student BC

Surerus is looking to hire a Labourer to support operations over the summer in our Fort St John location. You'll be responsible for general support on a variety of tasks within the Fort St John Shop and Yard.

• Comply with Surerus Safety practices and procedures
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
• Assist tradespeople and machine operators as needed
• Perform various general labour activities, such as:

• Housekeeping in and around the shop and yard
• Clean up of garbage and debris as required
• Manual material handling
• Operator lawn mowers and whipper snippers
• Operate hand and power tools

Note:

In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.

• High School diploma completed, or in progress
• Eligible to work in Canada
• Between ages of 17 and 24
• Reliable transportation to and from work

• Previous experience in general labour within an equipment repair facility is an asset.

• Self-starter, with problem solving skills and adaptability.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team
• Safety conscious and aware of job site protocols
• Punctual with a strong work ethic
• Excellent communication skills

This position is based in our Fort St John shop and yard. Must be able to work 8 – 10 hour days, 5 days a week.

Successful completion of a Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol test is required as a condition of employment. Steel-toed boots are required for this position.

The hourly rate for this position is between $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, dependent on the candidate’s skills and experience.
