Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (lpn), Primary Care

Position Summary

We are seeking a licensed Practical Nurse with a passion for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team  role is under the general supervision of the Primary Care Team Lead or designate, practicing in accordance with the standards of professional practice and the code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). The Primary Care LPN functions as a member of the interprofessional team and applies best practice to provide competent, safe, and ethical care for clients in settings such as physician practices, homes, schools, and communities.

Responsibilities

Performs assessments, plans, implements, and provides personal and nursing care to clients in line with the primary care plan developed with the interprofessional team and the client's personal goals of care.

Shift Rotation / Hours of Work
  • Days, nights, 07:00 to 19:00
  • 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)
Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nursing and registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing Licensed Practical Nurse, with one (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Current valid BC Driver's License.
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills within the LPN defined scope of practice or patient population dependent on the nature of the caseload (e.g., acute care, gerontology, palliative).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with people and families.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others within the context of an interprofessional team.
  • Ability to observe and recognize changes in a person's condition or health status.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize, and implement a plan of care.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including proficiency in relevant computer applications.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
Location

Primary and Community Care in Fort St. John, with access to regional and community partners.
