Position Summary
Do you have a passion for nursing? We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication to delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Dawson Creek & District Hospital.
Responsibilities• Identify, plan, compile and deliver training sessions for staff to assist them in meeting their key competencies in compliance with scope.
• Compile, implement and evaluate general and unit‑specific orientation and education programs for staff.
• Facilitate the development and ongoing maintenance of the department's preceptorship/mentorship programs.
• Participate in the ongoing review and revision of patient care standards, policies and procedures and coordinate in‑service programs aimed at meeting the continuing educational needs of staff.
Shift and Work HoursWednesday – Thursday with alternate Fridays, Days, 08:00 to 16:00.
Hospital OverviewDawson Creek & District Hospital is a full‑service community hospital that provides services to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 Acute Care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds and serves as the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical centre for the Northeast Region of BC.
The hospital provides the following services:

- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing plus three years’ recent related experience and two years’ formal experience in adult teaching/learning and curriculum development; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Three to five years’ experience in area of clinical focus.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Valid BC Driver’s License.
- Current practising registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives.

- Communication – Effective verbal, written and computer communication with clients, families, the public, medical staff and interdisciplinary team.
- Critical Thinking – Integrates and evaluates pertinent data from multiple sources to problem‑solve effectively.
- Teaching – Transmits information to instruct clients and others on health‑related topics.
- Assessment and Intervention – Completes initial and ongoing client assessments and provides nursing care through appropriate interventions.
- Technical – Operates related equipment and utilises computer technology.
- Physical – Performs the duties of the position.
