Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (lpn), Med Surg (Fort St. John)
Position Summary  We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Fort St. John Hospital. The LPN promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors, and staff. Reporting to the Program Lead or Designate and working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the LPN is responsible for providing nursing care to an assigned group of patients/residents according to established policies, procedures, and the Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia.

The LPN functions as an independent practitioner, recognizing situations that require collaboration with an RN/RPN. The LPN assists patients/residents in meeting their physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs, participates in developing care plans, conducting assessments, implementing and evaluating interventions, documenting information, and advocating for patients/residents. The LPN also participates in meetings, assists with orientation of new staff and students, responds and reports incidents, and performs clerical duties as needed.
Shift Rotation / Hours of Work  Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00; 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating).
Qualifications   Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing LPN registrant.
Current basic cardiac life support certification.

Location  Fort St. John Hospital, located in the community of Fort St. John.
