Location: Dawson Creek
Position Summary
Northern Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Emergency Department team at Dawson Creek and District Hospital. This dynamic role involves providing emergency care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced, team-based care environment. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with physicians and emergency nurses, supported by telemedicine tools and flexible scheduling. Advanced certifications required: ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and CASTED.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage CTAS 1 – 5 patients.
- Collaborate with physicians and emergency department nurses to deliver high-quality emergency care.
- Utilize Power Chart or paper-based documentation systems.
- Engage with virtual services to support emergency care delivery.
- Contribute to a team-based approach to emergency medicine.
- New Graduate NP - $145,739
- 1 Year Experience - $153,026
- 2 Years Experience - $160,313

- Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients/clients/residents and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self-care and prognosis.
- Ability to collaborate, consult with and formally refer patients/clients/residents to physicians and other health professionals when appropriate.
- Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices; ability to introduce education and evidence-based research.
- Ability to assess and recognize population health trends; ability to plan and implement strategies for population-based prevention and health promotion.
- Ability to implement and evaluate planned change.
- Ability to supervise others and evaluate the care they deliver.
- Ability to lead a team and work within a team.
- Ability to self‑direct, interact, and adapt effectively with other professionals in complex, dynamic situations.
- Ability to transfer knowledge, teach, coach and mentor others.
- Ability to identify and respond appropriately to legal and ethical issues that may arise in patient/resident/client care.
