Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide compassionate patient care and first‑line supervision of LPN nursing staff and unregulated care staff at Fort St. John Hospital. The LPN Coordinator will deliver nursing care to assigned residents/patients/clients and oversee staff duties according to BCCNM standards.
Responsibilities- Provide first‑line supervision to LPN nursing staff and unregulated care staff.
- Deliver nursing care to an assigned group of residents/patients/clients following established policies and BCCNM standards.
- Coordinate staff work by making and adjusting work assignments, providing work direction, and scheduling staff.
- Monitor and follow up on staff performance to ensure care outcomes are achieved and conduct ongoing staff evaluation.
Days, evenings, 06:30 to 17:45 (rotating).
Qualifications- Graduation from an approved Practical Nursing program and at least two years of recent clinical and/or supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with BCCNM.
- Valid BC driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle for business‑related purposes.
- Conduct initial and ongoing client assessments, including clinical and diagnostic reasoning, and provide nursing care with prescribed technical and therapeutic interventions.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff, and interdisciplinary team members using verbal, written, and computer communication.
- Integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources to problem‑solve effectively.
- Promote client‑focused care that respects diverse cultures and supports client advocacy and social‑justice concerns.
- Transmit information to clients and others on essential health‑care topics.
- Manage time and resources to promote cooperation across disciplines and support implementation of policies and ongoing professional development.
- Apply evidence‑based practice from nursing, health‑related, humanities, arts, and sciences disciplines.
- Operate related equipment, including relevant computer applications.
- Possess physical ability to perform job duties.
