Operating Room Registered Nurse

Join Northern Health as a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room at Fort St. John Hospital. This role focuses on compassionate patient care during the peri-operative process.

The successful candidate for this Full-Time RN role will work under the supervision of the Operating Room Head Nurse, providing direct nursing care and guidance to staff. Key skills include knowledge of aseptic techniques and operating room procedures. You will assess patients’ physical and psychological needs during the surgery and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct peri-operative nursing care to patients

• Assess physical and psychological needs of patients

• Provide work direction to nursing and non-nursing staff

• Document and evaluate nursing care provided

• Manage scheduled on-call responsibilities

Requirements:

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives

• Current C.P.R., I.V. Therapy, and Discharge from P.A.R. Certificates

• One year recent experience in Operating Room/Post-Anesthetic Room

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to operate medical equipment required in OR
