Intermediate Archaeologist

Lead archaeological assessments with Synergy Land & Environmental Services as an Intermediate Archaeologist in Fort St. John, BC. Engage with Indigenous communities while mentoring junior staff and managing field programs.
This full-time role involves leading field assessments, identifying and cataloging sites, and upholding health and safety standards. You will coordinate project delivery while fostering professional relationships with First Nations. Ideal for candidates with strong field leadership skills and a passion for archaeology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead archaeological field assessments across diverse sites

• Record and catalog archaeological and traditional use sites

• Conduct preliminary and post-impact assessments

• Uphold health and safety standards during fieldwork

• Mentor junior staff while supporting project coordination
Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Archaeology or Anthropology

• 3+ years of relevant field experience

• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence

• First Aid & H2S certification

• Ability to work flexible schedules in remote environments
