SEL Specialist for Indigenous Education in BC

Become an SEL Specialist with School District 60 in Fort St. John, BC, working to empower students' emotional and social skills through targeted support and training. This position emphasizes collaboration and community engagement.

The full-time role focuses on supporting the emotional and social well-being of Indigenous students from September to June. You’ll work directly with at-risk youth and collaborate closely with educators to create impactful learning environments. Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively with educators and community services

• Plan training for classroom staff on emotional support techniques

• Maintain thorough documentation of student interactions

• Guide students and families to available community resources

• Assist in crisis intervention and support as needed

Requirements:

• Degree in social work or related field

• License to practice social work in BC preferred

• Experience working with diverse student populations

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Willingness to travel to various school locations
