Work address: 8603 81 St, Fort St John, BC, V1J 0M4 and various clients’ locations across Canada, but mainly Fort St. John, BC, AB, SK and MB.

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
• Address customers' complaints or concerns
• Professionalism in customer service
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
• Drive lighter, special purpose trucks: A 5-ton box truck with hydraulic brakes (similar to a U-Haul moving vehicle).
• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive a 5-ton box truck with hydraulic brakes to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Perform preventive maintenance

Education:

Completion of secondary school is required.

Experience:

At least two years of experience as a truck driver is required. On-the-job-training is provided.

Class 5 Driver’s license is required OR an equivalent international driver’s license that meets Canadian licensing standards is required.

Mountain driving expertise is a strong asset.

Documentation knowledge:
Accident or incident reports and Inspection report (pre-trip, en‑route, post‑trip).

36.60 CAD. 40 hours per week

Accommodation available. Uniforms, meals and gasoline covered.

Flexibility on schedule is required. Regular scheduled is from Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 05:00pm. Weekends required as needed.
