Position:
Moving Van Driver (light/medium-duty)

Work address: 8603 81 St, Fort St John, BC, V1J 0M4 and various clients’ locations across Canada, but mainly Fort St. John, BC, AB, SK and MB.

Job Description

Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions

Address customers' complaints or concerns

Professionalism in customer service

Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy

Drive lighter, special purpose trucks: A 5-ton box truck with hydraulic brakes (similar to a U-Haul moving vehicle).

Load and unload goods

Operate and drive a 5-ton box truck with hydraulic brakes to transport goods and materials

Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment

Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle

Perform preventive maintenance

Requirements

Education:

Completion of secondary school is required.

Experience:

At least two years of experience as a truck driver is required. On-the-job-training is provided.

Class 5 Driver’s license is required OR an equivalent international driver’s license that meets Canadian licensing standards is required.

Mountain driving expertise is a strong asset.

Documentation knowledge:
Accident or incident reports and Inspection report (pre-trip, en‑route, post‑trip).
