The Role
Grizzly Trek is seeking one Class 1 Driver to join our valued client's team in Fort St. John, BC. This is a full-time, permanent position focused on operating heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment to transport hazardous and non‑hazardous waste safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do
Operate and drive heavy‑duty equipment to and from work sites, including wet vat trucks, trailers, tankers, combo units, and hydrovacs
Ensure proper loading and unloading of hazardous and non‑hazardous goods in compliance with safety regulations
Perform thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections
Communicate clearly and effectively with dispatchers regarding schedules, routes, and site conditions
Perform roadside repairs as needed to maintain safe and continuous operation
Maintain and clean company equipment to ensure operational readiness
What You Bring
Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license (must be currently held)
Minimum 2 years of experience operating Hydrovac, Combo units, or Wet Vac equipment
Prior experience in heavy equipment and vehicle operation, maintenance, and repair
Willingness to complete a background check, drug test, and physical
Preferred Qualifications
Experience transporting hazardous and non‑hazardous waste with familiarity in handling, loading, and safety protocols for hazardous materials
Demonstrated ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and minor roadside troubleshooting
Prior training or certifications relevant to heavy equipment operation and environmental/industrial services
Work Environment
Field‑based role with outdoor work in varying weather conditions across northeastern BC
Operation of heavy equipment in industrial and remote site settings
Exposure to hazardous and non‑hazardous materials requiring strict adherence to safety protocols
Physically demanding work including lifting, bending, and extended periods of driving
What We Offer
Competitive compensation: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
