We are seeking an experienced Transportation Coordinator for our client, a prominent Camp Services company. In this critical role, you will manage and optimize transportation operations, ensuring the smooth handling of the movement of goods and personnel essential to camp operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, bring exceptional organizational skills to efficiently coordinate logistics and must have experience travelling oil & gas roads.
Applicant must be currently living in Fort St John, BC or surrounding area.
Key Responsibilities
Route Planning & Dispatch: Schedule and coordinate transportation routes, dispatch drivers effectively, and liaise with carriers to ensure timely and cost-efficient deliveries.
Operational Oversight: Monitor daily transportation activities, track shipments, and proactively address any delays or issues that arise.
Documentation Management: Prepare and handle all transportation-related documentation with precision and accuracy.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, provincial, and local transportation regulations, including safety and environmental guidelines.
Relationship Development: Build and maintain strong partnerships with carriers, suppliers, and clients; negotiate service rates and efficiently resolve any operational challenges.
Data Management & Reporting: Collect and analyze transportation performance metrics, prepare reports, and provide insights to management.
Problem Resolution: Address operational challenges, including route disruptions or vehicle mechanical issues as they occur.
Administrative Responsibilities: Manage invoicing, track mileage, and enter shipment data into company systems.
Driver Training: Assist in training and assessing new drivers to ensure compliance with safety standards.
ELD Program Management: Oversee the MOTIVE ELD Program and ensure its effective use within the transportation system.
Vehicle Maintenance Oversight: Supervise and document vehicle maintenance and repair needs.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experienced in spreadsheet analysis (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and reporting capabilities.
Knowledgeable in GIS or mapping software for effective route planning.
In-depth understanding of DOT regulations regarding freight compliance, safety standards, and fleet management.
Soft Skills

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to adapt to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Additional Requirements
Post-secondary education preferred.
Valid Class 3 driver's license with air brakes is required.
Criminal Record check required.
Salary & Other Information
Pay : CA $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
