Ophthalmic Technician

ENvision Eye Care specializes in comprehensive adult and pediatric ophthalmology services to address a wide range of eye care needs. Our offerings include routine eye exams, cataract surgery, strabismus surgery, glaucoma treatments, diabetic eye disease management, and more. Based on extensive expertise, our team addresses both routine and complex eye conditions.

This is a full‑time on‑site role for an Ophthalmic Technician at our clinic located in Foster City, CA. The Ophthalmic Technician will assist the ophthalmologist with patient care, conduct preliminary tests, operate diagnostic equipment, assist with minor procedures such as chalazion removal, and perform technical eye assessments such as fundus photography. Additional responsibilities include checking patients in and out as well as ensuring the smooth flow of the clinic by coordinating with the team.

You will be working with patients of all ages and capabilities including young children, infants, patients with developmental delay, and the elderly.

• Knowledge and experience in ophthalmology practices
• Proficiency in performing diagnostic tests, including fundus photography, OCT, visual fields, corneal topography, optical biometry, etc.
• Strong skills in EHR use and documenting patient information accurately
• Basic understanding or experience in medicine and patient care
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction
• Experience in a clinical setting or a certification as an ophthalmic assistant or technician is a plus
