About the Opportunity:Our client, a leader in the automotive industry, is looking for a skilled Database Engineer to join their team for a 6+ month engagement. This project involves designing, building, and operating scalable, secure data stores that power applications and analytics. This is a high-impact role that requires a self‑motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:- Designing and developing efficient and scalable database solutions based on business requirements.
- Installing, configuring, and upgrading database software and related tools.
- Monitoring database performance and optimizing for efficiency and reliability.
- Implementing and maintaining database security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Collaborating with application developers to optimize database schema and queries.
- Troubleshooting database issues and providing timely resolution.
- Developing and maintaining documentation related to database architecture, configuration, and processes.
- Performing database capacity planning and recommending infrastructure improvements.
- Staying up to date with emerging database technologies and trends.
- Managing AWS database infrastructure and providing support.
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Engineer or Database Administrator.
- Deep expertise in database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Postgre
SQL, SQL Server, Redshift), AWS, and IaC related to database resources. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert. - Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization, familiarity with database design principles and data normalization, experience in database performance tuning and monitoring, understanding of backup and recovery procedures, and knowledge of database security best practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to provide clear and concise status updates to the project team.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
