The role of the Interaction Designer is to take the business’s product vision and transform it into an intuitive, engaging, and functional user experience. This role requires the ability to rapidly create interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma and other design/prototyping software, iterating quickly based on feedback and usability testing. The Interaction Designer must combine strong UX principles with speed, producing high-quality designs in fast-paced environments.
The Interaction Designer works closely with the product development department and acts as an advocate for all users of the business’s product. For the purpose of this advocacy, the Interaction Designer must be able to visually and verbally present product solutions necessary for the enhancement of users’ experience.
MajorJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Take product concepts from idea to interactive, functional prototype quickly and efficiently.
- Establish and maintain relationships with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align on design direction.
- Design and refine user experiences through fast iteration and feedback loops.
- Conduct usability testing and integrate findings into design improvements.
- Present and communicate design solutions visually and verbally to stakeholders.
- Maintain design consistency across product features and platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, UX Design, or related field (Required)
- 7+ years related experience in UX, interaction design, and prototyping (Required)
- Responsibility level
- Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor
- Comfortable working in rapid, iterative design cycles
- Verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
- Expert ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required)
- Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required)
- Expert knowledge of UX design principles, interaction patterns, and usability best practices (Required)
- Expert proficiency with Figma, Bolt, Replit and other prototype/design tools (Required)
- Comfortable working at speed, producing high-quality prototypes quickly (“run fast” capability)
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel (Required)
