GEICO is seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our Finance Technologies (Planning & Controls) team as a Senior Technical Program Manager. The successful candidate will drive teams of engineers to implement applications that support the Compliance, Risk, and Audit departments.
Position Responsibilities- Partner with the project sponsor, delivery team, and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Create, maintain, and actively manage a detailed project schedule, change control process, and documentation.
- Work with the Senior Director to address project dependencies, negotiate and estimate incremental delivery dates for milestones with the stakeholder community, and deliver projects on time.
- Identify and raise appropriate project risks, and present detailed and implementable solutions or alternatives.
- Understand how requirements and design choices may impact systems across multiple areas.
- Report on your team’s progress for project and other key metrics, and present ideas for further improvement.
- Leverage operational and LEAN practices to streamline organizational and team processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinate project activities across multiple systems, departments, and teams.
- Support implementations such as Legal Rule Repository, Regulatory Change Management, Model Risk Management, and GRC system.
- Engage in cross‑functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
- Enhance existing applications or build new ones using ERPs (People Soft, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud, Hyperion, Workday, SAP) to support GEICO’s Finance organization.
- Drive solutions to meet business requirements based on deep understanding of Finance, Accounting, Audit, and Compliance.
- Collaborate with product managers, vendors, customers, and engineering teams to solve complex problems.
- Represent technology during vendor tool selection, assisting business stakeholders in structured solution identification.
- Very strong program/project management skills with proven experience coordinating projects across multiple teams, with successful delivery at scale.
- Deep Finance and Risk domain expertise to partner with Finance/Risk leadership.
- Strong understanding of Risk, Compliance, and Audit reporting philosophies; and cross‑finance practices.
- Detail‑oriented with effective organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analytical skills.
- Experience or certification in LEAN principles and practices is an asset.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, ability to clearly document findings, proposals, issues, status.
- Ability to communicate and work directly with business leaders across Technology and Finance.
- Experience implementing Risk, Compliance, or Audit applications is preferred.
- Effective leadership qualities, ability to influence without direct authority.
- Experience managing conflict to achieve project goals.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proven ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Awareness of Azure Dev Ops (ADO) preferable.
- 12+ years managing large‑scale Finance or Risk Systems projects.
- PMI/PMP or Scrum certified.
- Excellent understanding of Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- 10+ years working with industry leading ERP solutions (People Soft, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud, Hyperion, Workday, SAP).
- 10+ years experience in Product Management, Project Management, or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
