Business Development and Sales
- Advanced data modeling (star schema, snowflake, composite models)
- DAX proficiency for complex measures and KPIs
- Performance tuning (aggregations, incremental refresh, query folding)
- Data Warehousing & Modeling
- Design and implement dimensional models and data marts
- Strong understanding of relational and analytical databases (SQL Server, Synapse, Snowflake, etc.)
- Handling Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD), surrogate keys, and conformed dimensions
- ETL/ELT & Integration
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Databricks
- Implement incremental refresh and CDC strategies
- Integrate Power BI with enterprise systems (IAM, catalogs, CI/CD)
- Migration Expertise
- Experience migrating legacy BI platforms (e.g., Micro Strategy, SSRS) to Power BI
- Report inventory analysis, semantic layer redesign, and KPI parity validation
- Governance & Security
- Implement RLS (Row-Level Security) and OLS (Object-Level Security)
- Workspace governance, certified datasets, and deployment pipelines
- Metadata and lineage management using tools like Purview or Collibra
- Dev Ops & Automation
- Automate deployments with Power BI REST APIs and Power Shell
- CI/CD pipelines for PBIX, datasets, and parameters
- Version control and rollback strategies
- Performance & Capacity Planning
- Monitor and manage capacity utilization and cost
- Cloud & Identity Management
- Azure AD/Entra authentication and role synchronization
- Service principals and token-based authentication for embedding scenarios
Experience with Micro Strategy to Power BI migration.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesLead BI Architect with experience in Power BI Migration. Able to design and implement the architecture for business intelligence solutions, creating data models and data warehouses to support an organization's reporting and data analysis needs. Key responsibilities include developing data models, ensuring data integration across systems, guiding strategic BI goals, and overseeing the technical aspects of BI projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in areas like data warehousing, ETL processes, and analytics tools, as well as collaboration with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Design and development:
Architect and design data models, data warehouses, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, Understand current reports and develop new using Power BI - Technical leadership:
Provide technical guidance and leadership for BI projects, ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of data systems. - Strategic planning:
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement strategic BI goals and initiatives that align with business objectives. - Integration:
Lead the integration of BI platforms with other enterprise systems and applications. - System oversight:
Ensure the quality and accessibility of data, while also managing metadata, data lineage, and data security.
