Clean Harbors – Foster City, CA is looking for a Hazardous Materials Field Chemist to join their safety conscious team. This person would be responsible for assisting in the collection, identification, and proper packaging and/or lab packing of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, and spill response at client site in Foster City, CA.

• Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Prepares computer‑generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications;
• Performs inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance;
• Inspects storage area for leaks or spills;
• Inspects drums for compliance with labeling regulations;
• Collects, segregates, and properly packages waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance;
• Samples and profiles of new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing;
• Physically demanding position;
  Must be able to lift 50 pounds;
• Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork.

• High school diploma or equivalent required;
• Chemistry background is required;
• Lab Pack experience is preferred;
• Attention to detail, able to take and follow direction, and to perform multiple tasks;
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to interface with customers.
