Client’s pipeline includes multiple programs derived from two distinct, wholly owned technology platforms.
About the OpportunityClient is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to become an integral member of the Downstream Process Development group. The group is responsible for critical drug development activities, including development of robust downstream processes, technology transfer and scale-up to contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs), and providing technical support and manufacturing oversight at external manufacturing facilities.
Role and Responsibilities- Develop and scale up robust, multi-step purification processes
- Document experimental work in laboratory notebooks in a timely and compliant manner
- Present experimental data in project team and group meetings
- Author technical reports
- Implement new purification technologies to optimize and streamline processes
- Transfer purification processes to CMOs and provide oversight for GMP manufacturing
- Review executed batch records from CMO manufacturing runs
- Produce material to support in-house development activities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field
- Minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience for Master’s-level candidates or 6+ years for Bachelor’s-level candidates
- Hands‑on experience with protein purification techniques, including column chromatography, membrane filtration, and ultrafiltration/diafiltration
- Working knowledge of ÄKTA systems and UNICORN software
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret complex process data
- Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Willingness and ability to travel and provide person‑in‑plant manufacturing oversight at CMOs preferred
- Prior experience working with external manufacturing vendors and partners preferred
