CNC Operator Level I | 1st Shift – Burton Mill Solutions – Fountain Inn, SC
Job DescriptionBurton Mill Solutions is a proud division of Wood Technologies International (WTI). Since the merger with USNR in 2021, we have become the world’s most comprehensive supplier of modern lumber‑processing equipment and technology, including machinery, automation, and tooling used to craft high‑precision metal blades and saws.
We are seeking a CNC Operator I | 1st Shift (Monday‑Thursday 5AM‑3PM, overtime potential) to support our production line of lathes, mills, and grinders at our Fountain Inn, SC facility.
Responsibilities- Change tooling or saw blades to grind/cut steel.
- Basic programming of CNC machines.
- Set up level 1 machines with appropriate programs and fixturing.
- Identify machine faults and troubleshoot them.
- Operate the two horizontal CNC machines in a cell configuration.
- Utilize basic shop math.
- Maintain production limits to control scrap.
- Use specialized saws or hand tools as required.
- Accurately use calipers and micrometers; understand fractions and decimals.
- Read industrial knife blueprints.
- Complete Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts for all assignments.
- Perform quality checks.
- Forklift certified or able to become certified.
- Load and unload steel from machines.
- Keep machines and work area clean and maintained.
- Work with a high sense of urgency.
- Wear all required PPE.
- Provide support and training to others as needed.
- Participate actively in Lean and Safety training.
- Cross‑train to other positions as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to speak and read English.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs alone (up to 100 lbs with lift assist).
- Ability to stand for the duration of shift.
- Fluent use of ERP system and CNC machine programming.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and email.
- Experience troubleshooting machine or process issues.
- Fast learner in a production environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
