Your Role on the TeamPosition Summary: The Cardiovascular RN is responsible to ensure patient safety during the Cardiac Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology/Neuro Interventional Radiology/ procedures. The RN is responsible for maintaining communication with the physician and charge/or manager to keep the flow throughout the day. The RN is responsible for staying abreast of the changes to department and industry standards. The RN is responsible for filtering this information to the procedural staff members.
On call requirement with a 30-minute response time.
Department Procedures include but are not limited to:
- Coronary angiogram/angioplasty
- Peripheral angiogram/angioplasty
- Neuro interventional angiogram/angioplasty
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) and Thoracic vessel repair
- Neuro Coronary Peripheral Pulmonary Thrombectomy
- Central/Port placement and removal
- Electrophysiology procedures including Ablation
- Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) procedures
- Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)
- Cardioversion
- Stress Tests
Required Qualifications:
- All External Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited RN program, and possess a current California RN license
- Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS
- A minimum of 1-year acute care experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology.
- Has full command (verbal and written) of the English language
- Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of patient population served
- 12 Lead EKG interpretations required
- Annual Update
- Completion of all teaching assignments provided for professional enhancement
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intensive Care Unit, Cath Lab/IR, Emergency Department
- Telemetry experience may be considered
- Ability to identify and interpret ECG Rhythms
- Knowledge of vasoactive medications
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
