Position Summary
Per Diem Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Variable shift. Reporting to the Imaging Manager, this role performs the full range of nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals, maintains quality control for scintillation equipment, and supports scanner qualification for ACR accreditation.
Responsibilities- Perform nuclear medicine diagnostic studies using SPECT and gamma cameras.
- Operate and perform quality control on stationary and portable scintillation equipment (e.g., SPECT, gamma cameras, Geiger‑Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibrators).
- Program and run clinical protocols under direction of the Imaging Manager and Medical Director.
- Assist in scanner qualification for ACR accreditation.
- Provide timely patient throughput and deliver high‑quality patient care.
- Work on‑call evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Graduate of an AMA‑accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Current California Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (ARRT(N) or NMTCB) and BLS certification.
- At least 1 year acute‑hospital experience, preferred.
- Proficiency in nuclear medicine procedures and equipment function.
- Computer skills and customer‑service orientation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Knowledge of University of California‑Irvine health system policies and procedures.
Must provide proof of work authorization. Must comply with UCI employment conditions, including background check, live scan, and drug‑free workplace policies.
