Job Description:
- Provide Electrical Engineering guidance and expertise in building, testing, and validating harnesses and electrical components from simple to complex builds.
- Understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and ISO/TS standards.
- Research and develop best-practice manufacturing processes.
- Determine the proper tooling and equipment necessary to perform each assembly process with DFM in mind.
- Continuously improving manufacturing processes by analyzing and planning workflow. Work with sales, engineering, and production to identify areas of continuous improvement.
- Assist in overseeing the process of updating documentation and training as needed.
- Complete and or oversee special projects as assigned. Identify, develop, implement, improve, and monitor Manufacturing Engineering initiatives and methods.
- Help establish standardized work Instruction. Propose fixtures to improve production activities. Help develop training programs for employees.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for completing Engineering prototype assemblies.
- Providing input for new Manufacturing processes.
- Executing Manufacturing Line Transfer activities.
- Maintaining the NPI line materials and manufacturing equipment.
- Support in material characterization and failure analysis activities.
- Providing new processes and prototype design suggestions.
- Design & assembly of equipment fixture tooling.
- Oversee the introduction of new processes and products.
To make sure that new products are manufacturable and create work instructions that the production assemblers can follow:
- Ability to read drawings
- Create work instructions
- Can use Microsoft office programs
- Can work closely with cross-functional departments
- Knowledge of quality systems & standards like ISO. AS9100.
- Experience with semi-automated manufacturing equipment is a plus
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S is a plus
