Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Medical Director (Practicing Veterinarian) to lead our Brookfield Pet Hospital in Fountain Valley, CA. This role requires high‑level veterinary expertise, leadership, and client communication skills to collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and hospital staff under the guidance of the Hospital and Regional Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient examinations and medical work‑ups.
- Provide client communication and education.
- Execute diagnostic procedures and surgeries.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Handle pharmacy duties, including prescription and controlled substance protocols.
- Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
- Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge.
- Attend daily rounds to ensure highest standards.
- Participate in practice management updates and training.
- Perform additional duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications (Required)
- Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
- Current state veterinary license.
- DEA registration.
- Minimum 3 years of veterinary practice experience.
- Strong diagnostic, surgical, and dental skills.
- Team‑oriented work style.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with staff and clients.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform moderately demanding tasks.

Pay Range
$180,000 – $200,000 USD
