Overview
The Department of Corrections is recruiting a Physician Supervisor – Associate Medical Director to provide professional medical services to patients in correctional facilities. The position is headquartered at Fox Lake Correctional Institution, Fox Lake, WI
.
As Associate Medical Director, you will:
- Attend to the medical needs of patients, diagnosing and treating illness and injuries, and arranging for professional consultation when warranted.
- Supervise physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners at designated regional institutions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including Health Services Managers, Assistant Directors of Nursing, Wardens, Psychological Services, Security, and Medical Director—to formulate and implement medical policies and operational procedures at the unit level.
Minimum qualifications:
- Current Wisconsin medical license and active Board certification in family medicine, internal medicine, preventive medicine or emergency medicine.
- Experience providing direct patient care, including examinations, treatment recommendations and order of lab work.
- Experience supervising, training or consulting medical staff.
- Valid personal DEA number and enrollment in Wisconsin Medicaid.
- Completion of continuing medical education requirements for each biennium as established by the Department of Regulation and Licensing.
Pay schedule range 50‑51 with base pay starting from $97.78/hour – $122.23/hour
. Add‑on pay up to $21.00/hour for Physician Board Certification and $7.00/hour for supervisory duties.
