Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner oversees the safe delivery of IV therapy in an Ambulatory Infusion Suite/Clinic. Responsibilities include managing patients on specialty medications for neurological, rheumatologic, gastroenterological, and immunological disorders; providing direct patient care; implementing best clinical practices; training staff; ensuring regulatory compliance; and collaborating with clinical staff and business leadership.

Qualification Requirements
  • Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
  • Current DEA and state-controlled substance license.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
  • Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Experience with patient care coordination, inventory management, and regulatory compliance in an outpatient infusion setting.
  • Strong IV access skills and knowledge of biologic and specialty medication protocols.
  • Experience with EMR documentation and workflow optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in infusion therapy and managing patients on specialty medications.
  • Minimum five (5) years of infusion therapy experience in an AIS/AIC environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and oversee infusion plans; evaluate patient progress and adjust care as needed.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments; prescribe medications and manage infusion therapies as per state scope of practice.
  • Provide direct patient care, including physical assessments, lab test interpretation, medication prescriptions, and infusion administration.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on infusion treatments to ensure safety and adherence.
  • Coordinate scheduling, oversee staffing, and optimize workflow for clinical operations.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the EMR.
  • Monitor and manage medication and supply inventory per clinical guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (HIPAA, payer credentialing, etc.).
  • Collaborate with referring providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams.
  • Lead quality assurance activities, accreditation compliance, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to clinical staff (RNs, LPNs, administrative personnel).
  • Participate in staff training, orientation, and professional development programs.
  • Respond promptly to patient concerns and medical emergencies within scope of practice.
  • Oversee multi-site clinical operations as needed.
  • Supervise RNs, LPNs, and clinical administrative staff.

  • Clinical expertise in infusion therapy, specialty medications, and management of patients with neurological, rheumatologic, gastroenterological, and immunological disorders.
