Lifeline Representatives Needed
We have partnered with a nationwide mental health crisis line in the U.S., launched in July 2022, designed to be an easy‑to‑remember number—like 911, but specifically for mental health emergencies. Since this lifeline has been accessible, lives have been saved by the compassionate services of Lifeline Representatives.
Join a compassionate, collaborative team supporting individuals experiencing emotional crises. As a Lifeline Representative, you’ll answer incoming calls from individuals dealing with mental health challenges, suicidal ideation, or other high‑stress situations. Your ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional will be vital to ensuring callers receive the help they need.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to calls from individuals experiencing mental health crises or distressing situations.
- Demonstrate empathy and maintain a nonjudgmental tone throughout interactions.
- De‑escalate callers as needed with support from on‑site supervisors.
- Take appropriate action in emergencies, including contacting 911 on behalf of callers.
- Maintain emotional resilience and professionalism between difficult calls.
- Accurately log call details and utilize multiple internal systems during and after calls.
- Schedule:
- Thursday 12 am–6 am
- Friday 8 am–4 pm
- Saturday 4 pm–10 pm and 12 pm–8 pm or 1 pm–9 pm
- Sunday 4 pm–10 pm
- Pay: $20 /hr, including paid training.
- Training is on‑site in Framingham, MA. After training the role shifts to a hybrid work set‑up.
- 1+ year experience in a customer‑facing or support‑related role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Chrome
- A very high level of empathy while interacting with someone who is going through a stressful situation
- Strong verbal communication skills and sound judgment
- Must have a High School Degree or GED
- Ability to attend training on‑site in Framingham, MA
- Access to a quiet workspace at home for shifts outside of the office
- Prior work in high‑stress or emergency call environments
- Experience supporting individuals in crisis or with mental health concerns
