POSITION SUMMARY :

To provide direct pedagogical instruction and professional learning to teachers in elementary literacy and social studies in order to deliver Framingham Public Schools’ high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, the achievement of academic proficiency for all students, and the closing of the achievement gap among subgroups within the schools; to facilitate meetings regarding curriculum, instruction, student assessments, support and progress;

and to collaborate with members of the academic school/district teams to support professional development initiatives and provide direct small group intervention to students when needed.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Massachusetts Teaching license in Elementary (1-6) and SEI Endorsement are required. All Humanities Coaches must take the Reading MTEL and provide the district with a passing score or Valid Massachusetts Teaching license in Reading, Reading Specialist License Preferred Please note that licensure requirements are subjected to change at the discretion of DESE.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

At least a Master’s Degree in the area of major study . Minimum of 3-5 years of successful teaching experience in a diverse learning environment. Experience demonstrating teacher leadership, leading professional learning opportunities, and/or engagement in school or district visioning, improvement planning, and implementation.
