Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking a

Human Resources Manager

who is the local resource that plans, directs, and coordinates the administrative functions of Service Provider’s workforce. This individual can serve as a link between Service Provider’s employees and management. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for employee recruitment, screening, and retention, which are integral to the effective provision of customer-oriented transportation.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing, recruiting, and hiring employees
  • Maintaining financial, payroll, personnel, reporting, and other records as needed
  • Developing and implementing innovative recruitment approaches to find and attract specialized talent
  • Establishing a hiring process including reviewing applications or resumes, screening applicants, interviewing potential employees, and conducting reference and background checks
  • Ensuring all personnel records are accurately maintained, including training, certifications, and compliance documentation
  • Administering compensation and benefit programs
  • Addressing staff concerns or complaints, investigating issues, and documenting findings for review
  • Developing initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and retention and to minimize turnover
  • Reviewing and updating organization policies to ensure compliance and enhance performance
  • Developing and revising job descriptions and training/checklists
  • Monitoring staffing levels and communicating with management regarding staffing needs
  • Ensuring timely and objective employee evaluations and reviews
  • Participating in meetings to achieve performance goals
  • Ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Serving as EEO and AA officer for the location
  • Acting as liaison with employee union representatives
Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years in HR management with 200+ employees
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, or equivalent experience
  • HR certifications are a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills for dealing with employees at all levels
