Senior Payroll Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly and biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
• Administer payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, and pay adjustments
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and labor laws
• Reconcile payroll reports, general ledger entries, and payroll-related accounts
• Coordinate payroll tax filings, W-2s, and year-end reporting
• Manage garnishments, benefits deductions, and 401(k) contributions
• Partner with HR and Finance to resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
• Support internal and external audits related to payroll
• Assist with payroll system updates, testing, and process improvements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment
• Experience with multi-state payroll and complex pay structures (hourly, salaried, union, overtime)
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
• Proficiency with payroll systems and Excel
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
