POSITION SUMMARY
FRAMINGHAM PUBLIC SCHOOLS – District Support Technician I (Level 1 technical support for software, hardware, and network issues for all district users). Provides clear technical solutions, one‑on‑one support, device deployment, inventory, and reporting to foster a high‑quality teaching and learning environment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS- Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
Preferred:
- Associate degree in Information Systems or a technology‑related discipline.
Required:
- A+ Certification or at least two years of experience in a technical support position, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and respond effectively to questions.
- Sound reasoning and problem‑solving skills to evaluate information, define problems, collect data, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
- Commitment to performing all duties in compliance with district requirements, state and federal laws, and FPS policies.
- Professionalism and composure in responding to unpredictable or challenging situations.
- Proficiency in using technology and willingness to learn new tools; ability to operate a computer and utilize software, including Google Workspace for Education.
- Willingness to plan, coordinate, and participate in ongoing professional learning and staff development.
- Experience in evaluating student skills, interpreting assessment data, and writing clear, concise reports.
- Strong collaborative, instructional, coaching, and leadership skills to support student programming.
- Analyze problems, conduct research, and resolve end‑user issues related to hardware, operating systems, and software on Chromebooks, laptops, and desktops.
- Provide technical support to each school in the district, either on‑site or through remote connections, phone, Help Desk system, and/or email.
- Set up, deploy, and maintain district hardware, utilizing imaging software and performing daily break/fix tasks.
- Accurately track all customer problems and requests in the district ticketing system to ensure timely follow‑up on inquiries and completion of assigned tasks.
- Collaborate with other IT personnel in the Operational Technology Department.
- Advocate for and adhere to IT strategies, hardware and software standards, security policies, and operational procedures established by the Office of Technology Department, ensuring consistent application across all schools in the district.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regularly required to move about the school building and may need to traverse various environments, including classrooms, offices, and common areas.
- Expected to lift at least 25 lbs and handle various technology equipment, including laptops, projectors, and printers.
- Required to communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members in person and over the phone.
- Directly responsible for the safety, well‑being, and work output of students.
