Desktop Support​/Lab IT Analyst

Overview We are seeking a Tier 1 IT Lab Support Technician to provide frontline technical support within a Windows-based lab environment. This individual will be responsible for maintaining desktop systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end users, and ensuring lab equipment remains operational and compliant with organizational standards. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically driven, and possesses strong troubleshooting skills in a hands-on support environment.

Responsibilities Provide Tier 1 technical support for desktop computers, laptops, peripherals, and lab equipment.

Troubleshoot and resolve Windows operating system, software, and hardware-related issues.

Perform workstation setup, deployment, imaging, and configuration.

Support user onboarding activities, including account provisioning, password resets, and access requests.

Install, configure, and maintain desktop applications and software packages.

Diagnose and resolve printer, scanner, docking station, and peripheral connectivity issues.

Monitor and maintain the health of lab systems and equipment to ensure maximum uptime.

Assist with hardware upgrades, replacements, and preventative maintenance activities.

Document incidents, service requests, and resolutions through the ticketing system.

Escalate complex technical issues to Tier 2 or engineering teams when necessary.

Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and One Drive.

Maintain inventory records and track IT assets within the lab environment.

Ensure systems comply with organizational security and configuration standards.

Provide excellent customer service and technical assistance to end users.

Required Qualifications 1-3 years of IT support, help desk, desktop support, or lab support experience.

Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.

Basic knowledge of Active Directory, user account administration, and password management.

Experience troubleshooting desktop hardware, software, and peripheral devices.

Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and services.

Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN connectivity.

Experience using ticketing systems to track and resolve technical issues.

Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced support environment.

Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting IT labs, training environments, testing facilities, or classroom technology.

Familiarity with desktop imaging and deployment tools.

Experience with Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, or other endpoint management solutions.

Knowledge of basic Power Shell administration and scripting.

CompTIA A+, Network+, or related certifications.

Experience working in a structured enterprise Windows environment.
