What you will be doing
  • Become a key contributor to the management and growth of sub-brand within Staples, by collaborating directly with the Brand Manager.
  • Analyze business performance, develop a deep understanding of brand health, and utilize data-driven insights to make recommendations that propel brand success.
  • Support major strategic planning functions, including brand strategy, packaging execution, content strategy, and digital strategy.
  • Integrate customer insights and competitive trends into brand strategy and creative output, ensuring Staples private brands stand out in the market.
  • Execute creative requests related to product packaging and digital content, attending reviews to ensure all creative remains on-brand.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams such as Product Development, Marketing, Creative, and Merchant teams to seamlessly execute strategy and drive results.
  • Directly influence brand sales and awareness by supporting strategic initiatives and go-to-market plans, enhancing customer shopping experience and driving brand loyalty.
  • Continuously seek innovative methods and creative solutions to adapt to changing market conditions and consumer preferences.
  • Coordinate with various departments and represent the Staples Brands Group in cross-functional meetings to ensure cohesive strategy implementation.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Proven experience supporting and managing brands, with a strong desire to hone business acumen as part of a data and insight-driven brand team.
  • Interest in strategic planning, brand strategy, product marketing, innovation, content strategy, and digital strategy.
  • Customer-centric mindset with the confidence to question conventional approaches and spark new ideas.
  • Experience building relationships and collaborating with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple complex projects with effective prioritization.
  • Fundamental understanding of performance metrics and brand financials.
  • Strong desire to innovate and stay ahead of market trends.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating customer, category, and industry trends to inform business insights and planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
What’s needed:
Basic Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of related experience in merchandising, marketing, or brand management—preferably in own brand/private brand sector or CPG brand.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate’s experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
