Prepared Foods Production Team Member (Deli / Culinary Prep) – Full Time
Base pay range: $17.00/hr – $25.40/hr
Perform all functions related to preparation, counter service, sanitation, and stocking of products. Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times. Follow team and store Standard Operating Procedures and health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities- Assist with production for all Prepared Foods venues.
- Ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated.
- Ensure product meets WFM guidelines for quality and preparation.
- Document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms.
- Use correct measuring devices and follow recipes.
- Help customers understand differences between WFM products and conventional store products.
- Keep walk‑ins and freezers clean and organized.
- Arrive to work station on time, groomed, dressed, and ready; attend all scheduled shifts and required training.
- Provide excellent customer service, address needs timely and effectively, model suggestive selling techniques, answer phones and pages politely.
- Maximize sales potential through proper prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
- Follow and ensure compliance with Weights & Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment; maintain equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards.
- Perform opening, mid‑day, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
- Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
- Thorough product knowledge.
- Ability to produce adequate number of recipes per shift based on batch size.
- Access market condition information and communicate it to customers.
- Understand spoilage and supply waste and its impact on departmental profits.
- Work knowledge and application of merchandising expectations.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Deliver information clearly and respectfully to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
- Meet customer service expectations and standards.
- Follow directions, procedures, time management, and organization.

- Strong work ethic and capability to work fast‑paced with urgency.
- Understand and comply with WFM quality goals.
- No prior retail experience required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Stand/walk 6‑8 hours in an 8‑hour day.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Movements: bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling.
- Exposure to FDA‑approved cleaning chemicals, temperatures: 90 °F.
- Work in wet and dry conditions.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Use of tools: knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, other heavy machinery.
- MAY require ladder use.
