Job Summary: The Software Engineer will support the North American Solution Delivery Selling & Store Operations Team
, developing and modernizing Back of Store systems and Workforce Management (WFM) capabilities. This role combines technical depth in UKG Pro WFM, Boomi integration, and SaaS solutions to deliver high-value applications across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. The engineer will work within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to design, code, and support global WFM technologies that enhance associate productivity and the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Workforce Management applications and integrations using UKG Pro WFM, Kronos Workforce Central
, and related technologies. - Design, configure, and deploy scalable solutions aligned with user-centered design principles.
- Write efficient, reusable, and high-quality code to support business-critical WFM capabilities.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Engineers, and Store Engineering Teams to define, design, and deliver solutions within Agile sprints.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues across production and test environments.
- Develop and implement CI/CD automation pipelines for efficient code deployment.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to modernization initiatives in Back of Stores applications.
- Ensure compliance with security, performance, and high-availability standards
. - Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation activities.
- Support global initiatives impacting multiple lines of business across North America and Europe.
Required Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Application Developer
. - Hands-on experience with UKG Pro WFM and Boomi Integrations
. - Strong knowledge of Kronos Workforce Integrations Manager (WIM) and UKG Pro
. - 3+ years developing and testing applications using UKG Pro or similar WFM tools.
- Experience delivering SaaS-based solutions and integrations within Agile/Dev Ops environments
. - Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical documentation.
Preferred Experience:
- Expertise in Workforce Central
, UKG Pro WFM Time & Attendance
, Schedule Optimization
, or ATK applications
. - Experience with Middleware technologies such as Boomi, Apigee, or MOVEit Automation
. - Familiarity with Oracle or SQL Server database environments.
- Proficiency with Git/Git Lab, Sonar Qube, JIRA, and Confluence
. - Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
- Knowledge of Oracle HRIS
, Workday
, or other HR/payroll system integrations. - Experience supporting retail business processes and store operations systems.
