Controls Application Engineer

Job Overview

Location:

Frankfort, IL. Reporting to the Controls District Department Manager, the successful candidate will design automatic climate control systems utilizing the latest technology from Honeywell Controls, Johnson Controls, Carrier Controls, and our custom templates.

• Review plans and specifications.
• Engineer the design, build, and plan/specification for jobs.
• Program, graphic design, and integration of automation systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair existing systems, assist in determining control/mechanical issues.
• Provide ongoing customer support.
• Assist the Controls division in development and offering of additional building services including commissioning, retro-commissioning, building condition assessments, surveillance, and access control.
• Assist with the development/adjustment processes and quality control measures.
• Provide R&D necessary to ensure offerings are current with available technology, industry trends, and best practices.
• Collaborate with and provide support to coworkers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma (or GED or equivalent).
• 3+ years of controls experience in HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs including Visio, Excel, and Word.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently. Organized with ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.

This largely sedentary role requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend, and stand as necessary.

The job operates in both an office and a field environment. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000.
