Dietary Cook / Line Cook — Make a Real Difference Every Day!

What you’ll do- This particular position is a combination of Cook duties in the kitchen and sometimes helping out as a Dietary Aide out in the dining room. Its a dual role.
- Prepare tasty, nutritious meals for patients, including special diets tailored with help from our Registered Dietitian.
- Keep the kitchen clean and safe, following strict food safety rules to protect everyone.
- Pitch in wherever needed — from stocking the freezer to chatting with patients about their meals or helping to prepare next week’s menu.
- Work as part of a fast-moving team that wears many hats every day.

Qualifications- Food Handler Certificate
- At least 1 year of dietary/cook experience in a healthcare facility or commercial/central kitchen (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of computer-based documentation systems
- Understanding of good food preparation, serving techniques, and food safety and sanitation rules
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to regularly push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds, and pass a pre-employment physical and background check

This center is managed by TRANSITIONAL CARE MANAGEMENT. We currently provide comprehensive management services to several inpatient healthcare centers throughout Northern IL & the Chicagoland area. These settings include Long-term Care Skilled Nursing (SNFs), Short-term Care Rehabilitation, Intermediate Care (ICFs), and Behavioral Health Service (SMHRFs) centers.
