JOB SUMMARY: The Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Associate will contribute to the academic mission of Kentucky State University by supporting research, teaching, and student mentoring in Manufacturing Engineering Technology. This position is designed as a temporary, mentored appointment to advance the candidate’s professional development in research and higher education.

• Conduct research in manufacturing engineering technology under faculty supervision.
• Assist in publishing scholarly work and presenting at conferences.
• Support undergraduate teaching, including laboratory instruction and/or lectures.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students in projects, internships, or research activities.
• Collaborate with faculty and industry partners on applied projects.
• Participate in limited departmental service or outreach activities as assigned.

• Knowledge of manufacturing engineering technology principles and practices.
• Ability to conduct and publish research in the discipline.
• Effective teaching and mentoring skills.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
• Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field (ABD nearing completion may be considered).
• Strong potential for independent research and scholarly contributions.
• Demonstrated ability or interest in undergraduate teaching.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: May supervise undergraduate students or teaching assistants in labs or research projects.
