Budget Specialist I
The Office of Child Support Services (CSS), an office within the Office of the Attorney General, provides assistance to parents and custodians with minor children seeking financial support from another parent. CSS is looking for a detail oriented and highly organized Budget Specialist I to join their team to provide financial and analytical support to the Office of Administrative Services within the CSS Department.
Responsibilities- Perform professional accounting duties for the Child Support Services Department.
- Analyze cash receipts, expenditures, allotment balances and other financial elements submitted by contracting officials and other vendors for compliance with budget, contract terms and federal and state laws and regulations; and use the eMARS reporting system.
- Process revenue related documents related to Child Support Services.
- Provide technical advice and assist in designing, testing and revising systems of internal control.
- Evaluate and monitor Child Support Services Department’s invoice processing for compliance.
- Maintain documentation for all transactions in accordance with office processes.
- Experience with statistical analysis, accounting and auditing.
- Experience with eMARS and MIP (Monthly Invoice Portal) system.
- Experience with billing processes and matters related to projects and, or, grants.
- Customer Service experience.
- Microsoft Office experience.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Ability to work in an office setting and within deadlines.
- Critical thinking skills with the aptitude to analyze data.
- Capable of adapting to ever-changing needs of the Department and Division.
Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Experience, Training, or
Skills:
Two years of professional experience in statistical or policy analysis, accounting, auditing, planning, or a related field.
