The Department for Local Government (DLG) serves the Commonwealth’s local governments. The agency provides assistance in the way of grant and loan assistance, as well as advises counties, cities and special districtsin matters of budget, personnel, and other issues relevant to those entities.
- Serve as coordinator and oversees the Kentucky Local Government Economic Development Fund (LGEDF), Local Government Economic Assistance Fund (LGEAF), Local Match Participation Program (LMPP), and Regional Development Agency Assistance Program (RDAAP), and other funding programs.
- Process applications, monitor, and evaluate grant projects administered by the Office of State Grants, which will include occasional travel.
- Assist in providing technical assistance to grant recipients.
- Perform evaluation of LGEDF, LGEAF, LMPP, and RDAAP projects.

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR
SKILLS:
Two years of administrative experience in business, industry, federal, state, or local government.

EXPERIENCE:
Graduate study will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for
EDUCATION:
Administrative experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the required college on a year-for- year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

Working ConditionsWork typically involves extensive contact with the public. Travel may be required.
Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
