Surgical Technologist Extern - PRN.

Candidate graduates in 6 to 8 months. The Surgical Technologist Extern delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services to support the efficient operation of the surgical suite. Under the supervision of the Circulating RN, the Surgical Technologist Extern assists the surgical staff in the perioperative process in accordance with the Surgical Technologist Extern’s skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well‑organized, and safe patient care environment.

The Surgical Technologist Extern is currently enrolled and in good standing in an approved school of surgical technology and can perform higher-level procedures once competency is achieved.

• Provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care by performing delegated basic patient care services.
• Assist surgical staff during the perioperative process under the supervision of the Circulating RN.
• Maintain a clean, well‑organized, and safe patient care environment.
• Perform higher‑level procedures once competency is achieved (in good standing).

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (Preferred).
• Currently enrolled in an approved Surgical Technologist program (Required).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required).
• Graduate in 6 to 8 months.
• Enrollment must be in good standing and only 6‑8 months left to program completion.
