Position Details

TCI has an immediate need for a GIS Specialist in Frankfort, KY. This is a long-term contract opportunity with probable extensions. This is not a C2C opportunity. Candidate must reside in Kentucky.

Summary

The GIS (Geographical Information Systems) Specialist will work within a team on a long-term project involving implementation, technical support, and Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) data sales. Responsibilities include working with ESRI products, Microsoft Database products, Go To Assist  remote software, and PVA data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project implementation, GIS software, project management, and IT service management.

This role requires a proactive individual capable of driving successful projects and collaborating with GIS and non-GIS staff.

Responsibilities
  • GIS parcel creation and/or splitting parcels.
  • Linking GIS data to tax roll.
  • Installing and maintaining ESRI software on over 800 computers statewide.
  • Selling GIS and Tax Roll Data.
  • Printing paper maps.
  • Providing technical support via phone and remote software.
  • Creating GIS sketch layers to improve building measurement accuracy for PVAs.
  • Learning and maintaining GIS sketching software.
  • Defining, documenting, and overseeing GIS solutions within PVA offices.
    • Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS or a related field.
  • Experience with project management and production support activities.
  • Proven success in leading implementation planning for projects.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills in GIS products.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of IT service management principles and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of ESRI products:
    ArcGIS Desktop 10.X and ArcGIS Pro.
