Director of Emergency Services – Frankfort, KY
Full-Time | Days | No Weekends
Compensation: $110,552 – $176,883 annually
Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000
Sign-On Bonus: Case by Case
Incentive Bonus: 17.5% – 26.25%

Overview

Join a nationally recognized acute care hospital serving Central Kentucky for over 40 years. As Director of Emergency Services, you’ll lead a 28-bed Level III Trauma Center that manages 35,000–45,000 annual visits. This role offers the opportunity to shape emergency care excellence in a 173-bed facility known for clinical quality, engaged leadership, and a collaborative culture.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Emergency Department.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care consistent with evidence-based standards.
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing, and patient throughput to maintain efficiency and safety.
  • Monitor department performance metrics and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Manage department budgets, labor resources, and equipment utilization.
  • Collaborate with physicians and administrative leadership to expand and optimize services.
  • Develop and coach high-performing teams through mentorship, feedback, and engagement.
  • Lead compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Active RN license (Compact or Kentucky).
  • 3+ years of progressive emergency services leadership in an acute care hospital.
  • Demonstrated success improving ED metrics (throughput, LWBS, patient satisfaction, etc.).

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree (MSN, MHA, or MBA).
  • Experience managing a 30+ bed Emergency Department with 30K+ annual visits.
  • Proven record of leading teams through growth or performance turnaround initiatives.
