Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Software Quality Engineer. They are looking for someone with a strong dev background who can jump in to write component tests and test the system holistically.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis. For W2 consultants, a benefits package is offered that includes medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k) with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $60 - $65 per hour (W2)

• Compile a list of endpoints, producers, and consumers within our systems and their interactions.
• Analyze the functionality of these contracts to understand their role in the system.
• Develop detailed test cases to cover various scenarios and edge cases.
• Engage with the engineering team to present and refine test cases based on feedback.
• Write automated test cases to efficiently execute the defined scenarios.
• Help incorporate automated test frameworks into CD pipelines.
• Provide test reporting metrics to assess the effectiveness of testing strategies and support continuous improvement.

• Experience automating testing of REST API and Kafka contracts.
• Experience with event processing mechanisms such as Kafka.
• Experience testing microservices.
• Hands‑on development experience in one or more back‑end object‑oriented programming languages (preferably C# and Type Script).
• Experience with testing frameworks like Playwright.
• Experience with Contract Testing (using Pact).
• Experience with automating tests (load, API, integration, functional) within CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with load testing, preferably with JMeter and/or Blaze Meter.

• Relevant Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of relevant industry, or Relevant Master’s Degree plus 4 years of relevant industry, or 11 years of practical experience.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
