The R&D Engineer Customization/Customer Support is responsible for delivering Product Development/R&D activities to release for sale new Product Design variants within pre‑verified design space, usually named “Customizations”. They ensure robustness of proposed customized designs and fit for purpose, plan and lead assigned activities to meet project milestones, set priorities, and respond to complex customer technical questions as part of Tier 2 Pharm Systems capabilities.

They propose potential inventions and comply with BD IP process, ensure compliance with BD quality policies, and report to the Customization/Customer Support R&D Product Care Manager.

• Build and maintain customized product specifications and Design History Files (DHF), driving technical reviews and ensuring compliant documentation.
• Develop deep understanding of customer needs to translate them into actionable product requirements and specifications, and ensure proper review with management.
• Solve technical problems with creative solutions, ensuring appropriate design transition from R&D to Manufacturing and supporting transfer and customer questions.
• Plan technical activities within scope, deliver on plan, and drive product design verification, validation, and qualification processes.
• Seek skill improvement through training and knowledge sharing, disseminating lessons learned throughout the organization, and support customer‑facing personnel with complex product questions.

• Analytical problem solving with strong product development practices, design control documents, statistical tools, and technical reviews.
• Master’s degree in a technical field (mechanical or material engineering) with 2‑3 years minimum experience in product or process development or maintenance.
• Ability to plan and evaluate resources for own activities.
• Ability to work as part of a team with effective communication across the BD organization.

• Ability to take responsibility for deliverables to internal customers.
• Implementation of product/method development, regulatory, and quality processes.
• Experience in high volume/highly regulated industry such as Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Automotive, or Aeronautics.
• Commitment to BD values.
• Fluency in professional English (reading, writing, speaking).

• Regular professional exchanges with peers, product control laboratories, project, quality, customer product support, legal and manufacturing functions.
• Interaction with subcontractors and customers for alignment on specifications, functional specifications and quality analysis.

• Work performed under supervision of a team leader.
